About Us

South Sea Suzuki offers a full range of services, boats, accessories and we are proud agents for the superb range of Suzuki Outboard motors. We are a small business but have a workshop and showroom in the Helderberg Basin at 91 George Street, Strand and the boat charter part of our business in the Old Harbour, Gordon’s Bay. We are fully mobile and should your boat be unable to come to us, we will come to you. We are well established in the Overberg and West Coast area and offer service and support as far afield as Struisbaai in the Overberg and Vredenburg on the West Coast.

South Sea Suzuki is owned and run by Alan du Plessis (074 268 5708) and assisted by Jayson Jooste and the rest of the staff. Both Jayson and Alan are keen anglers and boaters and have represented Western Province Deep Sea Angling on many occasions. We are well experienced in the boating field and we share a total commitment to quality, service and value for money.

Our technical wiz is Stan Peckham (083 232 3879). He is a marine engineer by trade and was probably the first person in South Africa to pull one of the new Suzuki four stroke engines apart - way back in 2005. Since then he has probably gained more technical expertise on these engines than anyone else in the country. Incidentally, the first engine he took apart was one of Alan’s, a 250hp motor. It is still running today. In the unlikely event that you experience a problem on your Suzuki’s, you could not be in better hands than those of Stan.
